Medco Associates Inc. was formed in 1992 by several nurses in university and clinical settings who had been approached by local attorneys to review records and provide expert testimony. The company grew exponentially when those attorneys referred us to their colleagues and so on.
We expanded our network of experts to fill those case needs and quickly learned how to network to secure the most qualified, experts skilled in medical legal analysis. These Associates worked as contractors through Medco Associates, Inc. providing behind the scenes consultation and research, expert opinion and testimony and educational seminars on medical-legal topics.
When tort reform threatened many states with caps on non-economic damages in medical malpractice suits there was a tidal wave of cases filed prior to the enactment date. During that flurry of activity we changed our business model to better accommodate attorney needs. We now simply refer the medical or nursing expert to the attorneys who work directly with each other. This has freed up our time to perform the behind the scenes consulting and educational seminars.
