Our Director

Susanna Neahusan, M.Ed, RN

   Susanna Neahusan, M.Ed, RN started with Medco Associates, Inc. in 1996 providing expert opinion on personal injury, product liability and medical malpractice cases. In 2001, she became the director of operations.

   After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981 with a BSN Susanna started her career in cardiac care and intensive care.  While in graduate school, she worked in local hospitals in a variety of positions such as infectious disease investigator, hospital employee nurse, admissions coordinator, case manager and in intensive care.  She received a Masters Degree in Health promotion and Fitness in 1989 from the Department of Education at UT Austin.  She was a hospital Education Director and the Director of a Home Health Agency.  Later, as a case manager for an insurance company she was introduced to medical legal reviews.

   She started providing analysis for Medco Associates, Inc.  in 1996 and gained experience in the processes of civil litigation involving medical and nursing issues.  She has created a niche for Medco Associates, Inc. within medical legal consulting by providing sharp analysis and recommending winning strategies to plaintiff and defense attorneys.  She has developed Medco's extensive network of highly qualified, testifying experts and has referred countless cases to them with excellent results.

   She has mentored many nurses and continues to hold the opinion that continuing education is a key to the improvement of healthcare provision.  Early identification of knowledge gaps and ensuring staff meet core competencies prevent many of the errors seen in hospital litigation involving nursing care.  To address these needs Susanna has created a non-profit foundation to promote education and to support healthcare research.  GrayCat Education Foundation was formed in 2007 providing continuing education through all day seminars and online courses.  The foundation is the beginning phases of obtaining funding for healthcare research.
